"CRISIS CATCHES UP WITH PARIS REGION ECONOMY - 4th quarter 2008
After having withstood the economic slowdown and initial effects of the crisis relatively well, Paris Region suffered a major setback in the last quarter of 2008. Even though the Paris Region unemployment rate still sits 1 point below the national rate, it spiked late in the year, rising from 6.4% in the 3rd quarter to 6.8% in the 4th.
